Danielle Kelly

MSW, LCSW, LCAS

Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina and California

Danielle Kelly, MSW, LCSW, LCAS, is a psychotherapist and the founder of Align Psychotherapy. She works with adults experiencing stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, and life transitions, and is committed to providing thoughtful, engaged psychotherapy that helps people develop greater clarity and perspective in their lives.

Danielle’s path to the field grew out of a longstanding interest in history, psychology, and the broader human experience. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in history from Pepperdine University before going on to complete a Master of Social Work at the University of Southern California and train as a psychotherapist.

Over the course of her career, Danielle has worked in private practice, collaborative healthcare settings, and substance use treatment programs, supporting adults through a wide range of emotional, relational, and life challenges.

Her approach to therapy is thoughtful and relational, drawing from psychology, attachment theory, philosophy, and an understanding of the social and cultural forces that shape people’s lives. She believes many of the struggles people experience are connected to the complexity of being human and the expectations we carry about ourselves, our relationships, and the course our lives should take.

While insight and self-understanding are important, Danielle believes therapy is most effective when new understanding is translated into daily life. Her work helps people face uncertainty, make difficult decisions, strengthen relationships, clarify priorities, and respond more intentionally to the challenges and opportunities they encounter.

Danielle founded Align Psychotherapy to create a practice centered on reflection, perspective, and helping people navigate modern life with greater clarity and intention.

Danielle's Services

In-Person Psychotherapy

Thoughtful, engaged psychotherapy for adults navigating stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, and difficult decisions. Sessions focus on developing greater clarity, understanding recurring patterns, and responding more intentionally to life’s challenges.

Virtual Psychotherapy

Secure telehealth psychotherapy for adults in North Carolina and California. Virtual sessions provide the same thoughtful, engaged approach as in-person therapy, offering flexibility without sacrificing depth, connection, or continuity of care. They allow therapy to remain consistent and accessible as schedules, responsibilities, and life circumstances evolve.

Clinical Consultation

Consultation for therapists seeking a thoughtful, collaborative space to explore clinical challenges, difficult decisions, ethical considerations, and professional growth. The focus is on strengthening clinical thinking, deepening understanding, and supporting sustainable practice over time.

Fees & Insurance

Danielle is in-network with Aetna, including the North Carolina State Health Plan. For clients paying out of pocket, the fee is $225 per session.

Superbills are available for clients seeking out-of-network reimbursement, depending on the terms of their plan. Because insurance reimbursement requires a mental health diagnosis, some clients prefer not to use insurance in order to maintain greater flexibility and privacy in their care.
